Dear Tavin: Month 4

Yet another month has flown by!

We celebrated Dad's first Father's Day.  It was a low key day but an enjoyable one!

We also made our first long road trip with you as Dad went to Madison to get Lasik.  You were not so great on the car ride there or back but did great in the hotel as you slept through the night!

You just finished eating and were zoning out to whatever was on the TV....

Since Dad was recovering from Lasik, I got to do tons of stuff outside, like clean the garage and mow lawn. Dad was the one taking care of you and putting you "down" for naps....

We also attended your first (and ours) St. Anne's Fest.  It was a sad day in that we had to say "goodbye" to Fr. Steve.  The music and the announcer were so loud that you broke out in the loudest cry I have heard from you :(  It broke my heart!

We also took your 3 month pictures with Heather.  You were soooo tired but she was able to capture some great pictures!!

You also celebrated your first 4th of July!  Although you didn't get to see the fireworks or participate in anything, we were able to get some pictures with the birthday boy, Grandpa!

You also had your first (play)date!  You were so talkative while the girl, Finley, seemed a little shy!  It'll be interesting to see if the trend continues!

We have been getting in to more of a routine at night and I think it has help you fall asleep a little easier.  Hopefully that continues!  One of the bedtime routines is bath time!  You are starting to love splashing around (Dad even decided to buy you a big blow up pool so you could splash in it....he hasn't figured out how to "sit" you in it yet....)

We captured this video during one of your baths.
It's so stinkin' cute I could watch it a million times!

When we were at Grandma and Grandpa's on July 14 we were able to get you on the 4 wheeler with Granpda.  You went right along with it and didn't seem to mind one bit!

You were rolling around like crazy, too!  From one side of the living room to the other!  Seems like it's your way of getting around until you get the crawling down!

And it wouldn't be a normal month in your life, if you weren't sleeping on Grandma at some point!

Time for your 4-month photo shoot:
"I'm this big"

"What'd you say?"

You are now definitely too big to fit under the monkey's chin

This month didn't seem so crazy since weren't running around a ton.  Hopefully we are able to continue that trend this month!

You are:
  • rolling like crazy!  Tummy to back, back to tummy.  It seems so easy for you!
  • standing!  You love to stand and look around!
  • sitting in the exersaucer!  You love to "talk" to the sun!  You are almost getting the hang of turning around in it!
  • enjoying our walks!  You don't really fall asleep anymore (unless you are super tired) and we found that you LOVE to walk with Dad "carrying" you!
  • talking up a storm!  It's so much fun to have a conversation with you!  Your facial expressions are adorable!
  • blowing raspberries!  Not sure where you learned this but you've been doing it almost constantly.
I'm so excited to watch you grow!  It's amazing just how fast you are learning things!

Love,
Mama

Tavin's Room

This is SOOO late, but better late than never right?

Here's the before:

It was quite the mess after a while and really needed a good cleaning!

In transition:

And the after (please ignore the clutter!)!

The monkey that we just HAD to have

Book "rack" that I made.  Turned out so good!

Just a few other things we handmade in the room

The changing table and shelf for diapers (by Shaun)

The mobile

The wall art.  I saw so many things on Etsy that I liked and came to the realization I could do it myself.  So I made the art on the computer, printed it out, and modge-podged it to some scrap board that Shaun cut for me.

There were a few other little projects.  Like a switch plate cover, closet markers, diaper pail liner, burp rags, fitted crib sheet...the list goes on!
