Dear Olivia: Month 9

Dear Olivia,

This past month you have taken off with your crawling.  You are starting to realize you can go more places then just the 10 feet around you.

I'm also finding that you get in more trouble than your brother ever did!  Getting into the pets' water dish, chewing on things you shouldn't, and knocking pictures down.

You are still a super sleeper.  You definitely let us know when it's time for a nap/bed and you normally go down without a fuss.

You started saying "mama" and it's the only thing you'll say.  You'll especially remember to say it after Tavin yells "mama"!

We have been experimenting a little bit more with food, noodles, broccoli, cauliflower, eggs.  And you love them all!

Your hair is starting to fill in and in the process tends to spike straight up.  It's pretty cute when you catch it at the right angle.

The month was pretty laid back.  We stayed home for the majority of it.  Just had one big occasion of Keith and Syd's wedding!

and your 9 month pics

You also started swimming lessons.  You've been great in the water and got the hang of kicking and moving your arms pretty fast.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures since we were both in the pool with you and Tavin.

You still only have you two bottom teeth.  There are no signs of the top two coming.

I can't believe we are into the last 3 months of your first year!

Love,
Mama

Summer Wedding #2

Our second wedding was for one of Shaun's ex co-workers.  Being the end of July, we were expecting a very hot, summer wedding but surprisingly it was the coldest weekend of the summer low 50s!!  We actually had to run to the store and buy Tavin a long sleeve shirt since it was an outdoor wedding!

Waiting for the ceremony to start...
Beautiful Bride!
First dance!

Tavin was getting antsy and tired and this is our go to position for keeping him from losing it!
Getting excited for music!

Summer Wedding #1

We finally had some weddings to attend this summer.  Up first, was my cousin's.  It was such a beautiful day (albeit a little chilly for June).

Here's a few pics from the day

Can you tell Tavin was way past his nap time?
Grandma & Grandpa dancing with T.
He was smitten with the girls and how they were dancing.  It was soo adorable to watch.

An August Wedding

This past weekend, Shaun and I headed "up north"...way up north to attend his cousin's wedding.  It was quite the interesting day but we still had fun spending time together!

The ceremony location:

The groom and "minister"

The groom's parents

The bride's brothers escorting their mother:

Bridesmaids

Ring bearer (stand in.  This guy is a trooper!  He was asked that morning and did an excellent job!)

The bride and her father

The ceremony was quick (only lasting 10 minutes) and sitting in the second row we could hardly hear a thing :(
And done!

Us after the ceremony!

Shaun's cousin and his wife (and kids) came up from Georgia.  We don't get a chance to see them that often so it was nice to get a pic with them!

So after the ceremony, we had quite a gap to fill.  We spent some time waiting for family pictures and the other half we went to a restaurant to get a snack.  It was nice to catch up with Shaun's relatives that we don't see much of!

The dinner was at 6 and it really wasn't anything spectacular.  The food presentation was rather interesting.  Some of it was better than others!

Then the dance started at 8......

Bride & Groom's first dance

Groom and his mother (sorry for the fuzzy picture)

After those dances were done it was pretty much the end of the day.  Shaun and I tried to get the dance floor moving but it was no use!

We learned a very valuable lesson during this wedding, after Minocqua there is NOTHING in Northern Wisconsin!
