Early tomorrow morning we will be driving Sam to meet someone to take him to his new home--foster home. While it seems like an eternity (aka 4 months) that we have had him, we are now very sad to see him leave. Especially since he is just getting shuffled. Shuffled because of the infection in his ears. The vets we normally go to weren't able to keep the infection under control. In some way, I feel like we failed as Sam's foster parents. Maybe we didn't clean his ears enough, do the drops right, or take care of him properly.
Because of the shuffling, I am worried how Sam will do tomorrow. After we drop him off, someone will drive him for an hour and then he will get dropped off with another person and ride with them for an hour and then finally will go to the person who he will be living with. All the changes and sudden uprooting are not easy on a dog.
There are many things we will miss about him. He is so funny to watch and he is such a good dog. Sadie will also miss him. They have been snuggling up more often and Sadie also likes to play with him, like tear around the house knocking things down type of playing. It'll be a long week or two adjusting for both Sam and Sadie.
One thing we won't miss is him flinging drool EVERYWHERE! Now we will finally be able to scrub down our house! The floors, walls, cupboards, doors, drawers, anything and everything has slobber on it! It's actually rather disgusting.
Sam's absence will also start a new chapter for us. A new chapter where we won't be able to foster for a while. We are sad about not being able to foster, but very excited to see where this next chapter goes!

Update on Sam #2
Well Sam is still with us. It's been a little over 3 months and he's doing great! When we got him he weighed about 63 pounds. Well he is now down to 46 pounds!! We were concerned that he might be too thin for this structure, but the vet said no way! The weight loss has made a drastic difference! He moves around so much easier, has more energy, and is generally all around happier!
Here's his pic from a few days after we got him:
And Sam just recently:
The only thing he isn't happy about is his ears. He still has a nasty infection in them. I'm hoping that this next round of treatment BBR decides to do will help him.
I think this is one of the funniest things Sam does:
How could anyone resist that!?!?
