**Not the actual horse but very similar.
See those scary, sharp ears? Yeah, she had to fall on those!**
I made the decision to put a band-aid on it and see if it would stop bleeding. An hour after I left (and about 2 hours after she fell) it was still bleeding.
After making a few calls to the doctor's office and Shaun, we decided to take Livie to the ER :(
We get there at 10:30 and wait for a 1/2 hour before we get called back. We are put in a room and the nurse and tech came in to hook her up to the monitor. We were told the doctor would be in soon.
An HOUR later, the doctor comes in and looks at it. We decide to try and do a liquid bandage.
Waited another 15 minutes and they attempt the liquid bandage but the doctor doesn't think it's going to hold. He suggests stitches. My concern with stitches is the need for sedation as advised by the Peds office. Dr. says he can do it without sedation. She would just need a local anesthetic.
A few minutes later the nurse comes back in to take off the liquid bandage and put the topical anesthetic on. The anesthetic needed to sit for a half hour before they could proceed.
Another HOUR later, the doctor comes back and they proceed to put 3 stitches into her cheek. Livie handled the ordeal like a trooper. She was not happy when they had to hold her down but she did not put up much of a fight because she was getting super tired.
So after 3 hours in the ER, I took Livie home and put her down for a nap and she slept until shortly after 4.
