So off we went (August 14-17), not knowing what to expect with a toddler.
The airport went well. Thankfully they had a play area for us to help wear Tavin out while we waited to board the plane. He had so much fun with it.
The flight went mostly well. He didn't sleep at all :( He started getting antsy right around the hour and half mark. But we managed to keep him under control. A lot of passengers/crew commented on how quiet and well behaved he was! They said kudos to us for being great parents :)
Our trip to the hotel took longer than expected. Well maybe not that long, but after a long day it sure felt like it was never going to end.
When we got to the room, we started getting ready for bed and Tavin settled down extremely well for being in a new place. He also slept through the night! So awesome (compared to our Chicago trip)!
The next morning, we got up about normal time and got ready to go to the park!
Tavin's first look at all the people!
The obligatory "stand in front of the castle" pictures
We first did Swiss Family Robinson (to let him run a little)
Jungle Cruise (thankfully someone gave us their fast passes and we didn't have to wait!)
The elephants! Tavin recently started making elephant noises so he was pretty much in awe to see these guys
Tiki Birds
Pirates of the Caribeean
and afterwards we watched a "Pirate show" Tavin was really intrigued by this. Not sure why. But he loved to watch it.
Then we made a stop for lunch and did one more attraction Country Bears
before we decided to get out of the heat and head back to the hotel room for an afternoon nap. I think we all needed it because we all passed out pretty fast.
Re-energized after our nap, we decided to go back to the park.
Waiting for the bus.
We got to the park and took the train to Fantsyland and started out with Dumbo. While we were waiting it line it started to rain. Dumbo in the rain wasn't so bad. We thought it would be a quick shower so we let Tavin play in the Dumbo play area for a little bit. We came back outside and it was still raining! So we headed for cover in the Little Mermaid attraction. The wait was pretty long, but thankfully it was an inside wait. Little Mermaid was pretty awesome and Tavin seemed to enjoy it :)
Since everything was wet, we decided to call it a day!
Day #2 we started out in Tomorrowland with Monster's Inc. laugh floor. It was a pretty funny show. Tavin and Shaun went on the PeopleMover while I waited in the Toy Story line
After Toy Story was Carousel of Progress. It was nothing spectacular and Tavin was only interested in the barking dog!
After that we saw Tigger and Pooh!! We decided to wait to take pictures with them since the line was pretty short! Tavin did not like Tigger at all. He was a little to up-in-your-face-touchy-feely but he thought Pooh was pretty cool.
Then we stumbled upon a mini size house and let him play for a few seconds
A few seconds was not long enough because he proceeded to throw a fit! We had wanted to do the Pooh Adventure and a few other rides but because he was needing a nap and the weather was pretty unbearable, we headed to It's a Small World and called it a day
After napping in the afternoon, we woke up to rain and just like that our Disney World experience was over :(
That evening we headed to Downtown Disney and let Tavin experience his first "night life"
A lego dragon
We ate at Planet Hollywood and Shaun HAD to get the Iron Man 3 picture
Tavin also enjoyed the corn-on-the-cob.
We made a few shop stops but never stayed very long. And that was it! Our very short Florida vacation!
The plane ride on the way back was a little bit more bearable since Tavin fell asleep for about an hour!!!! We never saw that coming and were pleasantly surprised!
It was a great time and we were so impressed with how well Tavin did!
