29 weeks (2/17 to 2/23)

Baby is the size of:  Acorn Squash
Weight Gain:  Dr. Scale on 2/12:  +24 (According to scale at home on 2/11: +18)
Sleep:  Can't get enough.

Best moment:  Passing my 3 hour glucose test!  Thank God I can still have Briqs!!
Worst moment:   Finding out I failed my one hour glucose test and having go through the 3 hour.  Never again!!
Food cravings/aversions:   Nothing really.
What I miss:   Warm weather!  Someone please tell Mother Nature that it is the end of February, not the beginning of January!

What I’m looking forward to:   Snow and ice melting.  It sucks doing the pregnant lady shuffle/walk on it!  I've already fallen numerous times..blah!
Goals:
  • Work out!
  • Finishing decorating Tavin's big boy room.  It's all painted.  Just have to add the finishing touches :)  We have it 99% done.  Just have to add a few things and move his stuff from the nursery down to the room!
  • Prepare freezer meals.  I have everything planned.  Just need to find a weekend (and enough room in our freezer) to do it all.
  • Prepare lactation bars/cookies
  • Start organizing craft/guest room We started working on it.  It's a slow and not finished process.  The plan is to re-use our old kitchen cabinets/countertop for a computer/sewing desk/storage.  So until that is out, it won't be completely finished.

Fun in the Snow!

We've been trying to get Tavin outside as much as possible this winter.  (Read:  When it's above 20 which is about once a week).  We were able to play outside when we visited Grandma and Grandpa's in early January.

Here's some pics from the day

28 weeks (2/10 to 2/16)

Baby is the size of:  Eggplant
Weight Gain:  Dr. Scale on 2/12:  +24 (According to scale at home on 2/11: +18)
Sleep:  Lovin' every minute!

Best moment:  Having Shaun come back home :)
Worst moment:  Taking the glucose test.  That drink is just nasty and then the tech bruised my arm so bad it looks like I was beat up :(
Food cravings/aversions:   Briqs.  I want it all.the.time!  How could anyone resist this?

What I miss:   Not having to put boots on.  It's getting harder and harder every week.

What I’m looking forward to:   Nothing really exciting is happening soon.  I have my 32 week ultrasound set but that's not for another month!
Goals:
  • Work out!
  • Figure out sleeping arrangements (i.e. buy another crib, move Tavin to a toddler bed?)
  • Update:  We found Tavin a toddler bed and will be moving him into a "big boy" room after his birthday.  Hopefully we can get it done by then!
  • Finishing decorating Tavin's big boy room.  It's all painted.  Just have to add the finishing touches :)

Weight Gain:  Dr. Scale on 1/15:  +17 (According to scale at home on 1/14: +13)
Sleep:  I'm doing great!  Tavin and this baby forgot that Mama likes her sleep!

Best moment:  Watching my belly protrude with jabs from the baby!  It's sooo nice to finally feel baby!
Worst moment:  First, Shaun leaving for Denver.  Second, Tavin throwing up and having to deal with 3 furbabies and cleaning it up....bleh!
Food cravings/aversions:   Graham crackers with peanut butter (crunchy!) and chocolate chips!
What I miss:   Nothing major comes to mind this week :)

What I’m looking forward to:  Finishing Tavin's big boy room.  It's halfway done!
Goals:

26 weeks (1/27 to 2/2)

Baby is the size of:  Head of lettuce
Weight Gain:  Dr. Scale on 1/15:  +17 (According to scale at home on 1/14: +13)
Sleep:  Still going good!

Best moment:  Getting organized around the house and emptying out the "craft room".
Worst moment:  Feeling stressed in getting ready for work.  Felt like there was never enough time in the morning and that I was doing everything!
Food cravings/aversions:   Nothing really this week.  I've been trying to eat healthier so my weight doesn't get out of control!
What I miss:   Above 20 degree temps....is it really too much to ask for?

What I’m looking forward to:  Feeling accomplished with getting organized!
Goals:
  • Work out!
  • Sew! Sew! Sew!  So many things to sew so the room can be made into Tavin's room.  Update:  Just when I think I'm almost done, I find more projects!!  I really need to stop while I'm ahead!  I'm finally done!  There are still things I could sew, but I got everything done I wanted and then some :)
  • Figure out sleeping arrangements (i.e. buy another crib, move Tavin to a toddler bed?)
  • Update:  We found Tavin a toddler bed and will be moving him into a "big boy" room after his birthday.  Hopefully we can get it done by then!

Worst moment:  Driving home!  The roads were horrible.  You suck Mother Nature!
Food cravings/aversions:   So hungry for chips and sandwich.
What I miss:   Wine :)

What I’m looking forward to:  Shaun's time off from his second job (granted it'll suck not to have the extra money for the kitchen) but hopefully we can get lots of stuff done!
Goals:
  • Work out!
  • Sew! Sew! Sew!  So many things to sew so the room can be made into Tavin's room.  Update:  Just when I think I'm almost done, I find more projects!!  I really need to stop while I'm ahead!

Baby is the size of:  Canteloupe
Weight Gain:  Dr. Scale on 1/15:  +17 (According to scale at home on 1/14: +13)
Sleep:  Still going good!

Best moment:  Starting to feel baby move more and more.
Worst moment:  In addition to the anterior placenta, found out I have a bilobed placenta-half posterior/half anterior.  Dr. said nothing to be concerned about right now as long as baby is growing.  They will do another ultrasound at 32 weeks and then non-stress tests after that.  Could be some complications during delivery that we need to watch.
Food cravings/aversions:   Ice cream!  All.the.time.
What I miss:   A night out

What I’m looking forward to:  Trivia!
Goals:
  • Work out!

2013 in Review

I saw this on another blog and wanted to do it here as well.  I know it's super late, but I don't think anything is ever very punctual with this blog :)

So here goes the 2013 year in review for our family:

1. What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before?  Flew on a plane with a toddler.  It went smoother than I ever thought it would.  Especially on the way back since Tavin slept.

2.  Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next this year?  Yes and no.  I didn't lose the weight I had wanted to due to becoming pregnant.  But I did manage to get quite a bit of sewing done.  Yes sewing was part of my resolution :)

3.  Did anyone close to you have a child.  No.

4.  Did anyone close to you die.  Yes.  Shaun lost both his Grandma and Grandpa.  :(

5.  Where did you travel?  Went to Wisconsin Dells twice, once in April and again in August.  Also went to Disneyworld in August.

6.  What was the best thing you bought?  Our Rav4.  I'm so glad we decided to switch vehicles.  It feels much more like us than the Murano.

7.  Where did most of your money go?  Mostly daycare, the new car, and vacations.

8.    What did you get really, really excited about?  Finally deciding to take plunge and remodel our kitchen.  Granted it won't be done until Aprilish, it's nice knowing it'll be done.

9.  Compared to this time last year, are you:  a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter?  c) richer or poorer?
a.  Happier.  There are still things I'm stressed about but in general things are good.
b.  Fatter.  Thanks pregnancy!
c.  Poorer.  The planned kitchen remodel is happening earlier than expected so it's draining our funds.

10.  What do you wish you'd done more of?  Spend more time with Tavin just playing or exploring. Also, going out with friends.

11.  What do you wish you'd done less of?  Worrying about how things will work out.  Sometimes I just have to go with the flow.

12.  What valuable life lesson did you learn in 2013?  Expect the unexpected.  Baby #2 coming along was a huge surprise and one we weren't quite ready for.  We also weren't exactly ready to remodel our kitchen but want to get it done before Baby #2 comes so in turn that resulted in Shaun having to get a part-time job to help save up money.

Christmas 2013

Christmas was a little bittersweet this year with Shaun's Grandpa dying a few days prior.  We didn't have plans to visit his family before that happened but the Saturday before Christmas we went to spend some time with his Mom.

Tavin was very excited to open presents!

Our trip was short but it was great (Grandma E did a great job at picking out presents).

We went to my family's house on Christmas Eve and spent the day hanging out, went to church in the evening, and then to my aunt/uncle's house for some holiday cheer.  Tavin surprisingly made it until about 9 and then was ready to crash.

Christmas Day the rest of my family came over and we ate lunch first (soups!).  Afterwards, family pictures (we finished in record time, too)

We tried to get a true family photo, but couldn't get a hold of Minnie

Grandma and Grandpa with the grandkids

And the entire clan

The day after Christmas we went home and had our own little family Christmas.  Tavin was excited there were more presents to open.

Elmo!

Tent and tunnel!

Warming Plate from Tavin (so adorable)!

Tool box!

Food processor for Dad!

Train track set

Mittens and...
necklace for Mommy!

It was a great holiday!  We were so blessed to be able to spend it with our families!

Food cravings/aversions:   Ice cream...chocolate with peanut butter!

Goals:
  • Sew! Sew! Sew!  So many things to sew so the room can be made into Tavin's room.  Update:  I'm actually starting to make some headway.  Only have a few things left on the list to sew!  Super thankful that I've been able to get stuff done!

Food cravings/aversions:   Blah...I'm not even going there!  I thought I wanted some pizza, turned out it didn't taste as great as I thought it was going to....
